Mission

The long view and vision of Deborah Hayden, the creator and founder of PROMPT, has always been to have PROMPT readily available to every person, in every country who can receive benefit from it. For this reason it was felt that no one person should own PROMPT but that it should be in the public domain where its theory and treatment could be studied and its services made universal. It from this perspective that in 2001 PROMPT became a not for profit organization.

The PROMPT Institute Vision is to have PROMPT readily available to every person, in every country, who has potential to benefit from it.

The PROMPT Institute Mission Statement

The PROMPT Institute is dedicated to the investigation of tactual sensory systems and their critical role in the development/rehabilitation of speech, language, cognition and interaction. To increase our understanding of these dynamic systems, we:

1. Provide workshops and education for speech-language pathologists, caregivers and the general public on PROMPT and speech production disorders.
2. Develop, and participate in treatment and clinical research, involving dynamic multi-sensory systems, for children and adults with speech-production disorders.
3. To develop special programs for all healthcare delivery environments.
4. To provide scholarships for those in PROMPT-developing areas.
5. To provide treatment grants for those unable to pay for PROMPT.
