Host A Workshop
Share |

We make hosting a PROMPT workshop easy for our hosts. If you can’t find a workshop near you – we can come to you. You do not need to find all of the participants for a workshop – we will list it on our website for participants to register directly with us.

What do we need?

We need a quiet room for three consecutive days (9:00am to 4:30pm) that can comfortably accommodate a minimum of 14 people and a maximum of about 40. The room needs tables and chairs set in a classroom style arrangement. We also need an LCD projector and screen (or very large TV) with speakers/sound.

In areas where workshop participants will drive to the workshop, we need to ensure parking is available.

If you can provide all of the above without any fee to the Institute and we get at least 13 registrations, we allow you to send one person free to the workshop.

What do you need to do?

Once you have ensured all of room requirements are available, we need to you to send us all of the following details at least 120 days prior to the start of the workshop:

  1. Contact person’s name:
  2. Contact person’s e-mail address:
  3. Contact person’s phone number:
  4. Workshop location:
    1. Building Name
    2. Street Address
    3. City
    4. State/Province (if applicable)
    5. Postal Code
  5. Tentative workshop dates
  6. How many participants the facility can hold (14-30)
  7. Type of Workshop (Introduction or Bridging)

Please contact us here if you are interested in hosting a workshop. Once we receive your information, we will contact you to determine if we are able to staff the workshop.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will the workshop cost for participants attending?

Our workshops generally cost about $700 to $1,000 US dollars per registration.

The PROMPT Institute is non-profit organization, we try to keep our costs as low as possible to provide training. We do not profit from our educational programs.

Our maximum student to teacher ratio is 14 to 1. Many times our Instructors must travel great distances to teach our workshops which also requires them to have several travel days. Administrative coordination, manuals, instructor training, educational development and other expenses all add up and do not allow us to conduct workshops at a 14 to 1 ratio inexpensively.

Why do I only get one free spot for hosting?

When we utilize a local host, we are only saving our room rental from the above equation, which typically equates to about one free registration.

I have a group of 14-40 people, what discounts will I get?

If you have a large group and would like to conduct a workshop only including that group please include that information with your workshop details. If the group will all  be paid on the same invoice, we will calculate a set price for your group. The price is based on our actual costs, which we have listed above.

How do I host a workshop in a language that is new to PROMPT?

The PROMPT Institute’s mission is to make PROMPT available to anyone who can benefit from it.

Our expansion into regions with languages that are new for PROMPT is difficult. PROMPT can not simply be translated as it requires a deeper understanding of the PROMPT concept and it’s unique application to a new language. We can not run a workshop with a translator - even if they are a Speech Language Pathologist.

The only way PROMPT expands into a new language is by training a native-speaker to the Instructor level. That Instructor will then have full conceptual knowledge to translate PROMPT.

However, we will teach the workshop in one of current languages and cover the PROMPTs in the local language. Local clinicians can then proceed to treat in the local language, but the knowledge and training they receive will be in one of our developed courses.
