Please note that our workshops require a pre-paid reservation. We do not accept partial payments. Participants paying through a purchase order should contact charlotte@prompt.org for details. Due to the significant expenses incurred by the PROMPT Institute to hold your reservation, failure to abide by any of the following terms and conditions will result in a forfeiture of your entire pre-paid reservation fee. Our workshop terms and conditions were updated in April of 2017. Please read them carefully as significant changes have occurred.
EligibilityYou must be a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to attend any of our workshops. Registrants who are not licensed SLPs will be asked to the leave the workshop and will not receive a refund. Please note that parents who are not SLPs are not eligible to participate in our workshops due to the extensive background knowledge required to master PROMPT. Parents who register for a workshop that are not a licensed SLP will be asked to leave and will not receive a refund. COURSE CANCELLATIONThe PROMPT Institute reserves the right to cancel a course if there are an insufficient number of registrants. In the unlikely event of course cancellation, registrants will be notified immediately and all tuition fully and promptly refunded. No other expenses incurred by participants will be reimbursed. Please use care when booking non-refundable travel expenses as The PROMPT Institute does not reimburse any expenses you may incur other than your tuition in the event of a cancellation. In the case of a non-culpable shortcoming (force majeure), and a workshop must be cancelled due to weather or other uncontrollable conditions, PROMPT will not be obliged to reimburse registrants for any expenses beyond the registration fee. Participant Attendance PolicyParticipation at the entire workshop is mandatory. Participants who arrive late or miss any portion of the workshop may not be welcome to return to the training and will not be eligible for a Letter of Completion or a refund of any costs incurred. You must attend the entire workshop to receive any CEUs. Please plan your travel arrangements accordingly. Participants who are disruptive or do not meet the criteria for taking a PROMPT Workshop will be asked to leave, without refund. Please note that you will use your hand to touch the face of your fellow participants and they will touch your face. If you have restrictions that may impede your ability to participate in touch, please contact us for potential accommodations. Standby POLICYThe PROMPT Institute has a standby policy in effect for workshop participants that may experience family emergencies or severe illness that prohibits them from attending a workshop. The Institute may request evidence to validate illness or emergency.
Fingernail & Clothing PolicyParticipants should wear comfortable clothing and the fingernails of the dominant hand must be cut short to allow for mylohyoid PROMPTing. Participants arriving at the workshop with long fingernails on the dominant hand will not be allowed to practice any mylohyoid prompts, as it is dangerous and extremely uncomfortable for your practice partner. Those arriving with long fingernails will not receive ASHA CEU's. No refunds will be given for those that do not adhere to the fingernail and clothing policy. Hand SanitizerIn order to learn the correct finger placements and pressure needed to prompt, you will be touching fellow attendees faces and your face will also be touched. If you feel the need to use hand sanitizer during the prompting sessions, you are welcome to do so. Please bring sanitizer with you, if using the sanitizer will make you more comfortable when prompting. There will be no sanitizer provided at the workshop!
UPdated Contact informationParticipants are responsible for keeping their membership profile contact information up to date. Workshop updates will be sent to the primary e-mail address on file within the PROMPT Institute website account. The PROMPT Institute will not be held responsible for any expenses incurred due to missed communications for outdated contact information.
Note:Lunches are on your own. We do not supply food or beverages at our workshops.
